Telecoms giant, Globacom has terminated its contract with some of its ambassadors.
NET gathered over the weekend that the affected ambassadors include, Rita Dominic, Ramsey Nouah, Mike Ezeruonye, Uche Jombo, Odunlade Adekola, Monalisa Chinda and Nonso Diobi.
Although the company has not issued an official statement, Uche Jombo appeared to confirm the development when she tweeted, ‘End of an Era…Begining of Another Thanks GLOBACOM for the opportunity 2 b an ambassador for 3yrs. i had fun, GLOBACOM.’
We could not immediately confirm why the actors were dropped, but sources say that it could be in line with a new policy at Glo which favours music acts over Nollywood stars who had almost monopolised the Globacom brand ambassadorship.
The company did not immediately respond to our calls and texts messages seeking confirmation.
Nonso Diobi who has been an ambassador since 2011 also did not answer his call when NET tried to reach him.
Only last May, a number of music artistes were signed to the brand as ambassadors.
